2013 WFR Host

Hey WFR!

I have grown up knowing most of you. But I know there are some family members that I have never met before. I am looking forward to the opportunity to meet you. And I hope you see this year's reunion as a way to re-connect.  I want to share a little bit about me so that you will not feel like you are talking to a stranger.

I was born in SC but grew up in Decatur, Ga. with my parents and my younger  brother, Marcus.
As a young person,  I enjoyed sewing, crafting, bowling, soccer, singing and traveling.

I graduated from South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, SC with a degree in Music Education. I taught elementary music in Chattanooga, TN. I worked as a photographer and a Boys & Girls Club Manager too. All the while I sang with different bands for various public and private events.

My husband and I were married in Muroran, Japan in 2008. Muroran is Knoxville, TN's Sister City. We went to Muroran to play a jazz festival.  We have traveled there 3 times.

We are excited that you are coming to East TN. Knoxville is about 20-30min from Sevierville. I felt that Sevierville would be closer to the vacation activities that most people look for.
The end of July is BUSY season. So there will be traffic at that time. However, Sevierville is on the edge of the busy area. Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are further in the county, pass Sevierville. I considered this when making arrangements.

This reunion will be a little different. I have expanded the usual format with additional activities like workshops and concerts. I have always felt that I wanted new ways to connect with my cousins.
I believe we should learn things together. Have fun together. I want to make new memories with cousins across all the generations.

Hope to see you in TN. Contact anytime. If you would like to leave a public comment about yourself below, I would appreciate it. LOVE, K
